Loske Coffee Service: Enjoying Coffee Mocktail in Ancient Kingdom Capital

My experience with Loske Coffee Service started with my traveling hobby. Being a traveler as well as a coffee lover is a hobby that sometimes takes us to interesting places. Especially when interacting, sometimes we get different stories and information about hidden places that we may not know before. Like what I experienced when I visited Space Roastery Yogyakarta (you can visit the article about Space Roastery here). While enjoying a coffee mocktail in Space Roastery, I try asked if there was a coffee recommendation place that I could visit in Solo. And that guide me to this little but special coffee shop, Loske Coffe Service.

Loske Coffee Service is located in the Keprabon area, Solo. Not far from the famous nasi liwet place Wongso Lemu. Just a few steps away. Surrounded by crowds, this coffee shop is very easy to miss if you don’t look around. This happened to me when I visited here. I have to turn quite far because the road is only one way. But my search paid off. Here’s a little story from my visit.

Unique Coffee Shop with Unfinished Space Concept

Loske Coffee Service locating in a medium-sized space in Keprabon, Solo. They have several sitting areas placed inside and outside. After looking at his social media, it seems that the current location is a move from the old location which is only a few steps away. The compact location and unfinished building accents add to the edgy impression of the space occupied by Loske Coffee Service. But the most unique thing you can find when you first enter this coffee shop.

The front view of Loske Coffee Service in Solo

Once inside, you will find their brewing bar with an open bar concept. Unlike most coffee shops, this open bar concept has its challenges. During the brewing process, the barista will have his back on the guest. So that guests can see openly the process of making the drink they ordered. This makes the cleanliness and tidiness of the process the main focus. Not only are the drinks delicious, but the workflow must also be neat and orderly. Imagine if you order a drink and the bar where the barista processes it looks untidy and dirty, of course, it will reduce interest in enjoying the drinks we have ordered. This open bar concept helps the barista to easily move and interact with guests. Baristas can maneuver in a fairly spacious space while chatting briefly with customers. This is my first experience visiting a coffee shop like this, especially in Solo.

Unforgettable Menu from Loske Coffee Service

Loske Coffee Service offers some unique menus created by their barista (and I think he’s the owner of the place too). These menus are full of creativity and I believe are the result of a long exploration of the ingredients used. Carefully crafted into delicious mocktails using their house-blend coffee. Unfortunately at that time, I arrived at this coffee shop when quite late and had to continue the journey the next day. So I will need enough sleep and it would be a wise choice not to consume too much coffee at night. So my choice fell on the top two menus on their menu, Libidream and Sunset Mon Cherry. Let me tell you about these amazing drinks.

Libidream

Libidream is their very first signature mocktail. The creator of these drinks, Dul Fitra, combines their house-blend espresso blend with muddled strawberry, orange juice then sweetened with honey and rum syrup.

Libidream is their very first signature mocktail. The creator of these drinks, Dul Fitra, combines their own house-blend espresso blend with muddled strawberry, orange juice then sweetened with honey and rum syrup. Shaken with ice and served in cold. Trust me, this is a drink that you want to drink in the middle of summer. It’s refreshing with a zesty tangy sensation from the fruits and sweet flavor from the honey and rum syrup. Their coffee and fruit combination is so perfect and brings such a unique flavor. The flavor spectrum keeps changing as I come near the bottom of the glass. The concentrated fruit juice at the bottom of the glass provides a strawberry flavor with subtle citrus notes that linger even after the drink is finished. This is a super fun drink that you have to try while visiting Loske Coffee Service.

Sunset Mon Cherry

Sunset Mon Cherry. It has a different type from Libidream. Its described as a fizz and bold drink with a slightly creamy texture.

The second drink I ordered is Sunset Mon Cherry. It has a different type from Libidream. They are described as fizz and bold drinks with a slightly creamy texture. Sunset Mon Cherry uses a unique based, apple-infused cold brew. And its works! The cold brew brings more lite drinking sensation than espresso-based. But it does not affect the coffee punch in this drink. The flavor is so bold but balanced at the same time. The coffee flavor is maintained at a super fun level and gives other components in these drinks to show their potential. A splash of soda gives a fizz sensation but is not too strong like a coffee soda. Once again, Sunset Mon Cherry is such a strong but balanced drink. Dul Fitra is showing me an amazing skill to combine all the ingredients until it serves at my table. Definitely two thumbs up.

Elaborating on a lot of fun experiences, delicious coffee mocktails, and the vibes that feel so different in Solo, I will definitely come back when I visit this city again. And if I forget to tell you about this coffee shop’s unique name, it’s read Loske (literally). In the Javanese language, it means “Let It Go” or “Biarkan” in the Indonesian language. Pretty unique right.
